In this dramatic novel she focused on the struggles everyday people go through ever day trying to find the gold within themselves. Then allowing themselves to live, learn and love. Gold Diggin' That's Good 4 Ya Soul!!!
Newcomer author Nikkea Smithers delivers a powerful message with her debut novel Gold Diggin'. Readers pulled in by the cliché title will be treated to a surprise while Gold Diggin' chronicles the lives of Goldie and Keith. Keith's harrowing childhood has turned him into a hit man for the notorious Rucker. When Goldie's job at a local radio station makes her Keith's latest mark can the attraction they share for each other spare her life and change Keith's future?
Readers will enjoy watching both characters grow and overcome obstacles that lead them to do some serious soul searching and form an undeniable bond. Mrs. Smithers shows that gold digging can definitely be positive when the digging is soul searching and the reward is much bigger than gold.

A message from the author:
Dear Reader,
First I would like to personally thank you for taking the time out to read the first chapter of my debut novel. If you liked this first segment I can assure you that you haven’t read a thing yet. There are more characters that will be introduced, more drama which is simply a part of life and I can assure you will enjoy the entire book.
This book has been a long time coming to give you some background on it, it began as a story with “Gold Diggin’” as the theme. But as I began to write the characters would not allow me to portray them any other way than I have in the book. The entire concept was transformed and rather than it becoming a cliché’ novel about another insecure woman trying to find her self worth in a man’s pockets, it has become much more.
Goldie’s life seems to be a merry-go round of ups and downs. The moment she is finally satisfied with her life a traumatizing event occurs to change her entire way of living. On top of that she has to deal with a difficult mother who has a family secret that can either tear the family apart or pull them closer together.
Keith has long ago given up on the promises life has to offer. He had become content with being the hit man of a ruthless kingpin. The object of a broken environment life has dealt him a brutal card so he sees no problem with taking a man’s life. That is until he meets Goldie and she changes it all.
Chamir is successful, beautiful and seems to have everything but happiness. She’s searching for something to save her from the loneliness that she has come to know.
This is a story about life and finding the value in it.

Once again I hope you have enjoyed the first chapter of “Gold Diggin” and share it with a friend.
Sincerely,
Nikkea “Auset” Smithers
